CLICK HERE FOR PRICING INFORMATION Brief Description of Liposuction in Troy, Alabama.Using mild sedation orally and intravenously, a numbing solution is infused under the skin to the fat to be removed. This takes 30 minutes. Once injected there is total numbness for the rest of the procedure and no bleeding.By using knitting needle size suction cannula's an even removal of fat is performed which takes an hour. Then pads, a garment and binders are applied. Risks:Infection - extremely rare using this technique, but can be serious/fatal.Skin ulceration - even more rare. We leave a 1/2 inch of fat to feed the skin. Blood clots - can be fatal, may cause leg swelling. Extremely unlikely in a healthy patient who has no general anesthetic.I've never had a patient develop a blood clot from liposuction. Numbness/burning sensation - usually transient and returns to normal in two months. Irregularities - can be smoothed with massage or touch up. Xylocaine Toxicity - rare when staying at or below 55mg/kg in dilute solution that contains adrenaline and avoiding certain herbs/medicines. Bleeding - Slight to no bruising can be expected unless not stopping smoking, aspirin, ibuprofen, herbals, vit E and some other meds. Unexpected problems - as in all operations, idiosyncratic reactions can occur which can be serious or even fatal. I have had no deaths. My technique includes oral sedation, tumescent fluid and microcannula's. No general anesthetics.
Recovery:You will be able to walk out of the operating room. Preferablysomeone should drive you home. Activity as tolerated. May drive the next day and return to work in 2-3 days.
